RTLS based on BizTalk RFID

Can Real-Time Location System which is based on locating RFID tags be built on BizTalk RFID as infrastructure? Are there means to integrate a positioning engine in the logic? Would you build a positioning engine as a workflow that merges information from RFID observations obtained from several Readers?

Absolutely.

We support 2 vendors today who offer h/w in this realm (Ubisense and Wavetrend) and will continue to bring these vendors on board.

UV,

Be sure to go to www.ubisense.net to learn about the location engine/location platform from Ubisense. With the location engine, the system will provide X, Y and Z coordinates with resolution within 30 cm. You can get this type of precision with information from a minimum of two sensors. Even with information from only one sensor, you will get a 2D position.

Now you can build an application on top of the the BizTalk RFID Server that can use accurate RTLS information.

Hi Debasish

The Wavetrend Provider for BizTalk RFID is still under testing and is not yet ready for use by customers.I think the Wavetrend development team is likely to have this ready in a couple of weeks. Please visit the WaveTrend web site for contacts to their team

Debasish,

I understand it is a late reply to your post. If you are still interested in a RTLS, go to www.ubisense.net. Or email me at guy.mikel@ubisense.net and I can have the provider sent to you. With Wavetrend, you will get a binary response; is the tag in the area of the reader or not. With Ubisense, we can send you x, y and z coordinates of the tag in question.
