Completely crashing my computer

If I try to add Virtual Earth my computer hangs to the point of having to doing a complete shutdown/reboot.

I'm using an IBM Thinkpad (lenovo T60) with the following specs:

XP SP2

Intel Centrino Duo 2Ghz

2Gb RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 Video

IE 7.0.5730.11

Any ideas on what's going on? I've tried it on both a wired and wireless Internet connection from two different locations with the same results.
