I spent 2 hours downloading the image file (~1GB) hoping to
install it from hard disk rather than burning to DVD
(which I dont have). But dismayed to see there is no
'set up' file. I dont want another 2 hours downloading
an installation.
Is there any way I can use the image file to install from
the hard disk?

There's a piece of software called Isobuster that allows you to "mount" and extract the files from a IMG or ISO (and other) CD image file. It costs $29.95 US and is available @ http://www.isobuster.com/.

goto http://www.farstone.com/software/virtualdrive.htm, download virtual drive evaluation version. Rename your downloaded image file to *.iso extension. Than VD can convert it to a *.vcd file (from the menu or press Ctrl+G). Than you can load it to some virtual drive that u would have just made and start intalling from it.

I had the problem that Nero 7 does not provide the "ImageFile" module for Vista. I reported this in another thread. I have now successfully burned the Orcas image files using your suggestion of Farstone Virtualdrive. Many thanks
