Site Collection error in email.. bad URL please help

Anyone:

When I try to open a form (via Browser) generated by the Approval process, I get this error:

The URL Employee Form/John Smith.xml is an unsupported relative URL. Use an absolute URL or prefix with '~sitecollection', for a site-collection-relative URL.

Obviously, the URL is incorrect. Is there a fix for this bug.. a workaround other than using Infopath to open the form. If anyone can help, please respond. Recommendations?

Thanks in advance..

Did this fix your problem?

I'm experiencing this same issue and I can reproduce it on a client without using outlook at all (just web client).

The url that the MOSS alert embeds in the email is simply wrong. It's not referring to the form properly. From an email client, that url needs to be absolute (http://....) and instead it's relative.

Has anyone solved this?

Take a look at this. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939592/en-us

We're running the hotfix now. I'll let you know if it fixes our problem.

FYI to all, I applied this hotfix and it solved my problem.

The hotfix was treated as an upgrade to WSS. We installed it and then had to run the configuration wizard which went thru an "upgrade" step.

Also, it has to be run on each server in the farm separately.

If you apply it, do a backup first.
