Problem with account

Hi everybody,

My husband used my home computer for some time and checked his hotmail. When I tried to open forums, I was prompted for password. I didn't at first noticed that it was showing his account. I later put my hotmail ID and password into the prompt, but somehow it's still his ID displayed now and I have no way to identify myself correctly. Once I sign off I do not see sign in button.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Go to IE tools internet options and delete the cookies and when you come back it would have removed his account from the passport login and you can add your account and login. This will affect any site you go to that uses cookie based login because you will need to login in all the sites. Hope this helps.

Is it possible to somehow remove only cookies for this site? I don't remember all my passwords for all sites I visit.

If it is there I am not aware of it, you could ask all sites to send you the password before removing the cookies.

I went back through FireFox today, but in IE I'm somehow remembered as my husband. I've changed his profile there to my name but without a space.

I guess I would have to either delete all IE cookies or use FireFox for this site at home Sad

At FireFox there is a warning when you try to log in.

Yes there is and I have posted instructions a couple of times today and I did about a week ago.

Basically, use the privacy tab of internet options to add microsoft.com as a site to block. Click okay and such. Then all cookies for microsoft.com should have been removed by IE but only microsoft.com. Then go back in and remove microsoft.com and then microsoft.com cookies will get recreated when you use microsoft.com web sites and such.

These steps may help you:

1) Find the folder like "C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Cookies"

2) Find the files like "[user]@microsoft[1/2/3].txt" and "[user]@forums.microsoft[1/2].txt"

3) Delete the files found in step 2.

4) Open your Explorer to visit.

Thank to you both. Right now the problem resolved by itself, but both your and Simple Samples replies are very helpful. I hope someone can mark them as answers to my thread, as I can not do so.
