VSTO with VS 2008 Beta 2 Error

I'm using the VPC image of VS 2008 Beta 2 and attempting to open a Excel 2003 project I created with Beta 1.

I have installed Office Pro 2003 and added SP2 to the VPC machine. If I attempt to install the VSTO SE runtime the installer crashes.

When I attempt to create an Excel 2003 Workbook project I get the "a compatible version of microsoft office is not installed on this computer...." error.

How can I fix this?

Can you uninstall the VS 2008 Beta 2 and then reinstall the VSTORuntime SE edition and see if the errors follow, my feelings are that the runtime is not installed fully previously with Excel SP2 and repairs possibly affecting the PIA's and or other critical files and this needs to be the best cause of action. Then install VS2008 B2 and see whether the Office Installation is ticked to install and then validate the project types are then available for Office 2003 and you should be ok.

I cannot uninstall VS2008 because it is pre-installed in a Virtual PC disk image. It's a shame the VPC image does not include Office 2003 so you can launch straight into testing VSTO.
