Crystal Report XI R2 with MySQL Server 5

Dear All

i am using visual studio 2005 pro. and cryatal report xi r2 and i had created reports with using mysql server 5 using ODBC b'coz there is no any other way to create reports with ODBC so its working fine on my PC but when i created setup project and instal on other PC data is working fine on vb.net forms but when i run the reports its ask me login i also try number of ideas which i search on this site but no result so plz plz plz ..... any one is there to give my solution for this mejor problem. i have to demo to my IT Director as soon as posible plz.. help out to problem.

Hey Majaz,

Does the machine you are trying to deploy to have access to the DB? You say you can only get it to work with ODBC, and if that is the case any system you deploy to needs to have the correct DSN entry in the ODBC Data Source Administrator (Control Panel -> Administrator Tools -> Data Sources (ODBC)).

No i had created reports with using DSN becouse there is no any other way to create reports with MySQL

and i can get ODBC on other PC i can't create ODBC to other PC for MySQL Server

plz tell me how to create ODBC to other PC for MySQL Server if you know plz replay me

or if you have any project using VB.Net 2005 + Crystal Report XI R2 + MySQL with Client - Server Setup

Hi!

If you use an ODBC to connect to the server, let us say the server name is myserver, on the other computer/client you need also to install mysql driver{mySQL ODBC 3.51} on the client computer. after that, create a DSN with the same DSN as in the server. for example you have a DSN named payroll, on the client computer setup a DSN named also payroll and on the ODBC admin of mysql on the server textbox type the name of the server 'myserver' as it is in my example provide a password and the username to connect to the server. and then try to run your application again.

i need without DSN connection it is solved and my project is working fine

I am glad you have solved it. I am using MySQL since 2004 from vb6 up to vb.net. I am willing to help the best that I can do. So if there is problem you can contact me I have 2 email address you could use either of this and I also have my YM account, I am always online if I am free...
