Work Item Parent-Child management in MSProject
In Jeff Beehler's blog describing the Rosario CTP, he describes using Excel to manage the parent-child relationships between work items and allowing for the rollup of remaining time, etc.
I have historically used MSProject for this type of task organization and rollup and am curious if the MSProject integration to TFS will incorporate/support the Rosario hierarchical work item features or if this will need to be done in Excel.
Also - will users be able to manage/view hierarchical work items in Team Explorer?

Hi,
With the August CTP, we have only added the hierarchical work item support to Excel but certainly expect to do the same within MS Project as well for Rosario as it's a natural extension of how many people work today.
And, yes, you can also manage and view hierarchical work items in the Team Explorer view. Using the eBanking project included in the CTP VPC you'll find a query called "Work Breakdown". If you open that query, you'll see how we enable querying on links and displaying the results as a tree. Try it out and let us know what you think.
Thanks
jeff
We are thinking about support for hierarchical/dependency relationships in MSProject and we will be sharing more details when it is available.
Yes users can manage/view hierarchical workitems in Team Explorer and this is available in the Rosario CTP.
