Process Template Editor?

I am sure that the current Process Template Editor won't work because it won't capture the new capabilities - I just downloaded Rosario so I haven't fired it up really to take a look, but are we back to hand-coding the Process Template and Work Item definitions? I'll check the docs to in order to see if there is something there, but thought I would ask here as well.

Bryan,

You're right...the current Process Template Editor does not include support for the new capabilities exposed in the Rosario work item tracking. We do plan to update PTE in the future but we'll most likely wait for the TFS features to stabilize first so that we're not chasing a moving target. Until then, we're all stuck hand-coding work item definitions.

Bryan -

In talking to the PTE team this morning, I learned more about their plans for Rosario. They expect to add a number of new features in this timeframe:

· Edit all elements of the process from the editor

· Records explicit dependencies between process elements in the process description XML

· Validate changes against the dependencies to keep process authors from inadvertently breaking the process when making changes

· Will only require Team Explorer, not VS client install

They also confirmed that they won't be adding these features until late in the product cycle since they plan to wait for TFS to stabilize before engaging in significant work.

Hope this helps!
