What's new in June CTP of VS 2005?

Where can I find out what's new in the June CTP of Whidbey so that I know whether it is worth downloading and installing compared with Beta 2? There's nothing on the VS2005 front page and the reference on MSDN downloads just says that it isn't as stable as a Beta. Gee, thanks.

Rob Caron wrote a good blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/robcaron/archive/2005/06/15/429278.aspx) of whether or not you should upgrade to the June CTP.

OK, seriously, that's a nice description, but there's no detail. Basically, it sounds like the answer is "there's a lot of bug fixes and updated documentation. If you want it, here it is." I wish there was a stronger statement about it like "we've got 3 1/2 months worth of bug fixes in here. Please test this version because this is the last one we're releasing before RTM in the fall." Oh well. I personally don't know how many more betas, CTPs, or RCs to expect.

The next CTP will have more detail around what's new, etc. and some effort will be spent to stabilize the build. As you noted, the June CTP is intended to simply reflect the latest build out of the lab. We hope to build out an infrastructure that allows us to release builds monthly with some indication as to the quality (both from our test results and user-contributed ratings).

Aside from the bug fixes, June CTP also has few new features and DCRs for example:

Improved Security User Experience
Support for Repair and Reinstall
etc

CTP is point in time release directly out of our lab without much of stabilization. One thing to also note is that Single Server Setup does not work well in June CTP.

Thanks,

Now why couldn't that have been in the release notes last month? That "etc" feature sounds really cool and I'd like to test it out. :-)
I read your post and Ajay's post and still don't understand why you're posting them monthly. If you don't tell us explicitly what's new, what's fixed, and what's broken, what's the point? How would we know if a particular build was better or worse for us? Do you really expect to get quality feedback out of these releases? It seems like what you're going to get is very hit or miss. I for one wouldn't install any CTP given that not only can I not know whether a particular bug is fixed in it but also I'm warned that it may be less stable than Beta 2.
That's not very comforting - the product is getting worse before it gets better? Hmm... It sounds like you're adding features now, not just fixing bugs - yet will not Beta test those new features. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. I've forwarded it to one of our program managers.
