Not to be a jerk, but the word you are looking for is 'retarded'.

I had this problem ... briefly.
I don't believe that I caught the line that tells you to HIT ANY KEY in time.

If you read the docs\setup.htm file on your VISTA install disk, there is a wealth of information there. One of the first things it mentions is that you have to hit a key at this point or it will bypass the installation and continue into the current version.

okay let me explain all the steps.
1. i download windows vista off of ms site Windows Build 5270 32 bit Main Checked DVD
2. i use daemon tools 4.0 to mount it, Since using a DVD didn't work.
3. i install it, put it in my key, choose my 2nd parition drive which is drive D has nothing on it has about 90 gb of space
4. it installs then it restarts
5. it restarts and keeps going and then it asks me for two options
either choose my current windows xp or choose "windows setup" which is long horn.
6.

i select it and it goes to boot screen after couple rounds it passes

by, BOOM the srceen changes couple times and restarts and if i leave it

on for ever it will keep going on and on =o

So now i don't know

i tried re downloading the DVD didn't work, now i am SURE that there

are several people in here that have my problem and so far no solution

If i am doing anything wronge in these steps, correct me please
