Windows Messenger won''t open...but it''s running ?

So when i try to open windows live messenger, it shows as it is running in my "windows task manager", but nothing opens; no icon in the tool bar no windows open

If i click it again, another msnmsgr.exe appears in my windows task manager.

Every time i try to re-open it, another one starts, but nothing happens

I've tried re-installing it, I have the latest version, I've tried restarting my computer

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Shmiddy,

How long ago was it when it started doing this? Is there any programs that you may have installed when it was still working that may have caused it to do this?

I have the same problem. This started last night. I am running Vista Ultimate. When I try to force close the process it wont close. The size is about 7k. It frustrating me because I cant log on at all

Hi Wipas and Shmiddy,

Ive been doing much research on the topic, and heres what ive gathered as far as options to try..

If you have a router, try resetting it.. hold the reset button, unplug for 10 secs. etc.,

Heres a link talking about it.. many people have also had much problems with this.

I don't know how, or why, but it worked! My kids thank you!!! LOL
