Native WLAN API: how can I only associate to a WPA-AP, not start WPA handshake

Hi everyone,
I have an AP configured with WPA-PSK. I wan to associate with this AP but not start the WPA 4-way handshake process.

I have tried to setup a profile with OPEN+WEP to connect with WlanConnect(). But it seems this API prevents me from connecting to AP with a mismatch profile, because there is no any Auth Req and Association Req sent out.

I also found that in the Wireless Profile Tool with Vista, when I manually create a profile with OPEN+WEP over the WPA AP, then the 'Connect' button will be disabled and the description said the profile is mismatch with the AP's configuration.

Is there anyway to circumvent this issue?
