a few questions / suggestions

I've been using OfficeLive "hard" for a little over a week and have a few questions / suggestions:

First, I run Windows Vista (whole different can of worms) and it seems due to this, I am not able to post my website. It tells me the "click to view web folder" link is an invalid path. This is very frustrating to say the least and has been escalated to the development team but remains unresolved for a week now. Further, it seems odd to me that I can't "publish" my site using ftp or some other means via MICROSOFT Expression Web? Additionally, I'm told that because of the required "drag and drop" procedure, my links cannot be relative which means I have to modify my entire website to accommodate!!!

Second, it appears that there is no way to link my mail to my PDA via PoP/IMAP or any other means. I have to use mobile msn or a mobile browser to check email which means there is not way to be notified of new email directly on my PDA. Owning a consulting company means it's crucial to stay on top of email and this is quite a pain!

Third, I'm trying to understand why so much information is required of users I invite to my portal? It's quite intrusive for new users to have to enter so much information before obtaining access to a particular portal I've set up for them. I love the workspaces and biz apps, as do my collaborators / customers but I've gotten several complaints about the exhaustive amount of data entry required before gaining access!

Fourth, using the outlook connector to upload contacts is a kluge at best. Although it finally did upload my outlook contacts, it continuously told me my "internet connection has been lost" when that wasn't the case. As a tip to other users, just sit at your computer and keep clicking "ok" as they are actually still being uploaded..........this is just a diversion.

Perhaps a bug? Subsequent to composing and sending an email, if you select "check email" it always tells you "you have new messages" when in fact you don't.

I'd like to see a bit more documentation on calculating values in workspaces. Perhaps some example expressions in the help files? I'm working through it via trial and error but some time saving tips would be nice.

Hi Todd,

Thanks for your detailed feedback. You have several threads on the forum right now, and one of them addresses the Vista problem, so i will not get into that here.

Regarding your 2nd, 3rd and 4th issues, I will pass that feedback on to the respective teams that work on those features.

Regarding calculating values in workspaces, I assume you mean columns where the column type is calculated. These are directly out of Windows SharePoint Services v3, so probably the best place for you to get detailed help on creating formulas will be the SharePoint documentation. This article has some information about that.
