Where do I configure envelope x12 segments in biztalk 2004/2006 (not R2)

where do I set the required segment fields values in Biztalk 2004/2006 eg

  • ISA segment
  • GS segment
  • ST segment
  • SE segment
  • GE segment
  • IEA segment

I am new to EDI but I assume that this is configured somewhere in the Party or the Send Port but I cant figure out where.

Hi Jody,

You are right.

You set up those fields in the Party properties. Plus you can use the promoted properties. Some of the values accessable as a separate properties, some - as a part of the whole segment text properties.

Thanks Leonid,
But what I am looking for is some sort of properties page in the Party/Send Port like set ISA values (or something like that, thats what R2 does anway) I cant see them. You mentioned promoted properies how would they work - presumably inside an orch or pipeline.

Thanks Jody

The new EDI subsystem is configured by Party parameters.

There are configuration for the control EDI segments. Some of the promoted properties could be used for routing, in the send port and receive shape filters.

Leonid,

R2 is ok and its obvious in the Party where I specify envelope segments. However 2004/2006 for example if I wanted to set ISA15 to "T" where would I do it?

OOps,
I didn't catch the text in subj "(not R2)".
OK
For 2004/2006 you have to tell us what do you use for EDI processing"
EDI base adapter (cannot help you. Never worked with it.);
EDI Covast accelerator (here I can help Smile ) (which version?)
or the plain flat-file processing (obviously you don't use is (?)).

Thanks Leonid,
I am using the EDI Base adapter. Its so easy in R2, I just cant get it in 2004/2006 with the EDI Base Adapter
