SQL Server Management Console for SQL Server 2008

I uninstalled SQL Server 2005, and loaded SQL Server 2008 on my XP SP2 pc. After everything installed, I'm still missing the SQL Server Management Console for SQL Server 2008. During installation, I ensured I did check client management tools to have the GUI interface to the 2008 SQL db...however, it didn't install.

Any thoughts please?

Thanks

Please double check for installation errors. Look at this file: C:\Program Files\microsoft sql server\100\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Summary.txt.

Also, if you open the SQL Server installation entry in Add/Remove Programs (from the control panel) you can view a report of what's installed. Make sure that Workstation Components (Client Tools) shows up in the list.

Hi There,

Since we haven't heard back from you in ~10 days I'm going to close this as answered. If you're still encountering problems with Management Studio feel free to post a new thread.

Cheers,

Dan
