Be aware, I just recieved an email from two guys calling theselves as Dr. Hassan and Prof. Gilbert and they claimed that I won Microsoft Promotion Lottery held in Nigeria in May 2007 and the prize is ONE MILLION POUNDS. WAW!
Please take care and do not be trapped in such emails. This is a juggle.

Hah, I have received the very same communication and in trying to test this matter I have spoken to the various parties. They all have a distinctly "West-African" accent and they are very good in dodging questions and avoiding straight answers! So I can only confirm this to be hoax for phishing cash off you - stay clear! Microsoft and Citibank should send Scotland Yard in to check these guys out seeing that they are using their registered trademarks and purporting to be speaking in MSN and Citibank's names. I would dearly like to pass all my correspondence to Microsoft and CitibankPlc, I am just lacking their email addresses.
They ask you to submit your details and use it . This is identity theft. They steal your money and use your identity to defraud others . This ends up in your being accused of being a criminal.
If Microsoft deos not take any ction by themselves and disclaim any connection they could also end up being sued.

Even I received same kind of mail from a_hanson020@hotmail.com with the subject like "CONGRATULATION TO YOU Vamsi FROM MICROSOFT " mail content says that won you a?¤2.000 000.00 (TWO Million Great Britain Pounds Sterling) as one of the 5 winners in this draw.
Unfortunately i sent all my details. Later i received a mail from forexdept@hsbcforexx.com his name is Van
Bruce.. saying that in order to process this amount i need to pay of Endorsement Fee (1,240 GBP) (1,15,000 indian rupee) and he has given one Inida ICICI(India account)account details and asked me to tarnsfer the endorsment fee.
I thougt this is frad information and i was trying to search microsoft site, suddenly i saw all these conversations, thank god..

He fill it and sent. Then he received an answer to contact with Mr. Alarcon. I speak with him and he told to send him full name and information details. Now I read your messages that it can be truth.... How can we guess, are these people work in Microsoft?
Hi.. Once you provide all personal information, they will say that...we forwarded this amount to HSBC Insurance or some other agency, so please contact to get this winning amount to some XXX person. Later that XXX person will send the scanned copy Insurance proof and he will say that in order to receive the amount.. u have to pay the governement tax of 0,001%. Later based on your country location he will suggest u to transfer the exchange amount to some bank account.
And also they will black mail u by saying that you have only 4 days of time to claim amount... i went through up to here... thank god some how i tried to search in msdn... becoz of my fate i have seen all the replies... so avoid these kind of mails.

I have been recieving this or similar email at my Yahoo mailbox for some time, maybe a year or more. I recall, vaguely, getting email annoucing this promotion. I spammed it all, and I still get these emails. There doesn't seem to be any dipute that this is anything but spam. Microsoft doesn't seem interested in pursuing these scams. I hope no one is fool enough to fall for this, but I suppose ther must be, as this is still circulating.
