Error when opening an acess file using dataadapter to fill a dataset

Dear All,

I'm facing a real issue with an application Im developing ,let me explain what Im facing :

1-I use Visual Studio 2005 \ Visual Basic \ Windows Home SP2

2-It is multiuser application where users access and update Access 2000 under Office 2003

3-Im receiving a very odd error ,it happens when the dataadapter tries to fill the dataset ,it gives the following error

The odd thing about that error ,it may appear at any moment at runtime ,it also may happen to other dataadapters

I tried almost every possible way ,and to mention MDAC 2.8 is installed on my machine and that no user of this application is updating any record that may cause any conflict with other users, does anyone have any idea why such an error occurs ,I tried google ,MS KB article and MSDN and the result is nothing ,please if any one can help into that I would appreciate vey much

It's an interesting issue -- to keep the thread alive you might want to post the surrounding code that corresponds to the lines in your error message:

FrmTrix lines 444 & 1337

it might give us something more to go on.

Hello ,the code is simply the following :

Private Sub FillTrixDS()

'Clear the rows from the table and re-fill them again with records

'This step is a refreshing step to initialze all rows again

'and check their new states

Me.TrixDataSet.Tables("Contacts").Rows.Clear()

Me.ContactsTableAdapter.Connection.Open()

Me.ContactsTableAdapter.Fill(Me.TrixDataSet.Contacts)

Me.ContactsTableAdapter.Connection.Close()

End Sub

The exception occurs when the dataadapter tried to fill the dataset

Appreciate any help and concern to throw light on that issue

Hi Aiad,

I think that the error lies the improper Sql query statement. Please clarify the some information about your Sql query statement. I use the data source wizard to create the dataset and the TableAdapter to fetch the data. Then I use the following code snippet similar to your code. It works correctly.

Code Snippet

Me.NorthwindDataSet.Shippers.Rows.Clear()

Me.ShippersTableAdapter.Fill(Me.NorthwindDataSet.Shippers)

and the connction string="Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\Trix\Trix\Trix.mdb" ,this string is created by the Wizard ,also the exception above occured on other adapter ,this is a multiuser application where 4 users are entering the application almost the same time and perform various actions
