CLR error: 80004005

I have windows xp home edition/ note book, compaq presasrio V3016US. I no longer am able to use HP battery check, I keep getting hpBatUI.exe-Fatal error, along with CLR error 80004005, The program will now terminate. I have deleted program and re installed it repeatedly with no luck. Note : property compatability mode is not Checked on program. Can I get some help here.
