Forums SP5 is Live
To all Forums users,
Forums SP5 is now live, please log any bugs you may find in the bug feedback forum. We appreciate your patience during tonight's somewhat unexpected downtime. More information will be forthcoming about bug fixes and new features for the SP.

Today's release of Forums SP5 has been delayed due to last minute scheduling issues. The forums will not be taken down at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience the previous announcement may have caused. When I have more information about the new release date, I will let you all know.

Old Announcement:
On September 5th 2007 at 9:30 AM PST the forums will be taken offline for a service pack deployment.We anticipate the downtime to last until 1:00 PM PST.During this time you will see a page displayed indicating that the deployment is under way, and the forums will be inaccessible.Thank you for your patience during this scheduled downtime.
New Recognition System
The first new feature you are likely to notice, is a basic recognition system that we are adding.You will now gain points as you participate on the forums.In general, points will be awarded for replying to threads other than your own, and having your posts marked as an answer or being voted useful.There will be several thresholds for points that translate to a rating of zero to five “stars” that will appear under each user’s name in the post view.
