C:\WINDOWS\system32\fxsext32.dll

What on earth is this? Why is my software demanding it yet still working?

I tried downloading the dll to C:\Windows\System32 and this did not stop the error message. Better to disable the "Fax Extension" add-in, as follows:

In Outlook, click "Tools" / "Trust Center..." / "Add-Ins"

At the bottom of the screen, click "Exchange Client Extensions". Click "Go"

Uncheck "Fax Extension Add-In". Click "OK"

Exit Outlook and reload. Should get rid of the error message.

After trying everything else I could think of, I tried this and it worked.

I don't use the fax service and in fact in Outlook 03 I don't even find a way to configure it or disable it. I suspect the .dll went south when I upgraded to Vista - that's when the error messages started.

I downloaded the .zip file, extracted the .dll to System32, and all is well. One more unused .dll won't be a problem if it fixes the error messages!

I had the same problem and tried your solution. It worked. However, I wish I had noticed the comments concerning the fax extension add-in, below. Seems like a cleaner fix.

I used the solution I did because I do not see the "Trust Center" or any other reference to fax or configuration anywhere in Outlook 2003.

By the way - the solution has stopped working and I am back to square one. Go figure...

So...for me to find the add-in manager mentioned below in my Outlook 2003, I had to do these steps to find it:

Tools > Options... > 'Other' tab > 'COM Add-Ins...'

After unchecking the Fax box, problem was fixed! Hope this helps!

HELP!!! I've tried everything. I am running off Outlook 03 with Vista and I all of a sudden started getting the same error. I have downloaded the dll file but have not extracted it yet because I cannot find the C:\WINDOWS\System32\fxsext32.dll file area. I also checked the tools/options idea to uncheck the "fax addin" but there is no add-in for a fax. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

This worked for me. Finding the fax add-in was not straight forward. Tools\options\other\advanced options\add-in manager. Nothing seems to be easy with this stuff.
