SQL Server Connectivity Problem

Hi all~

I installed SQL Server 2008 July CTP on my Windows Vista computer (OS: Vista Ultimate).

When I use SSMS to connect to SQL Server 2008, a error message shown:

No process is on the other end of the pipe.

I check the advanced information:

Advanced Error Information
Server Name: VISTAWS\sql2008
Error Number: 233
Severity: 20
State: 0

My SQL Server 2008 configuration:

1. Instance: Computer\sql2008

2. TCP and Named Pipe already enabled.

3. Connect locally.

4. Default instance is already installed SQL Server 2005.

How can I resolve this problem?

Thanks.

SQL2K8 and SQL2K5 are not yet supported side-by-side. This is documented in the July CTP Readme document.

Cheers,

Thanks for your reply.

I reinstalled my Windows Vista operation system, and install SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008.

They works normally...
