OpenSearch support

It would be great if Popfly would directly support the OpenSearch REST API.

Hi,

Would you want an OpenSearch block? Or that Popfly exposes an OpenSearch interface so Popfly can be searched?

Opening up Popfly to search engines is certainly something we want to do when we go public, and we'll make sure to consider OpenSearch as it sure seems like an interesting service.

Cheers.

Having an OpenSearch block would enable Popfly users to embed searching and displaying the results from the vast majority of existing search-engines much of the standardisation around OpenSearch for delivering search-functionality has been driven by both IE7 and Firefox2 which have native support for it.

As far as opening up Popfly content to search-engines, I would really like to have the ability of producting a sitemap for a Popfly account (certainly would be great for the search-engine I maintain.)

And if you go the whole-hog and provide an OpenSearch REST API for searching Popfly accounts and an OpenSearch block, you'll be providing a very mashup friendly way of providing site-search to your users.

Sure sounnds interesting, I can't make any promises for including it in upcoming releases but it's certainly something we'll look at.
