MSDN and TechNet Subscribers - input on value of dowload SHA1 Hash and CRC values wanted

The MSDN and TechNet Subscriptions Team is working on some significant updates and improvements to the Subscriber Downloads User Experience.

As we move ahead, a question has been posed about the use of the SHA1 Hash and ISO/CRC values for the Subscriber Downloads content.

Do subscribers use the displayed SHA1 Hash values in the Subscriber Download details? I know we get pinged when the SHA1 Hash value is missing, so our perception is that it is used, but we would like to validate this.

The ISO/CRC value is also available but is not currently shown in the Subscriber Downloads details.

Would the ISO/CRC be valuable to have displayed? More or less so than SHA1 Hash?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Speaking personally, I *always* verify the SHA-1 value for downloaded images.

So keep the SHA-1, but add the ISO/CRC as well.
