Microsoft VX3000 webcam on Vista

Ok I bought this camera as it came with a Vista ready sticker on it. Now having got home I had to download the installer as the CD which came with it doesn't work on Vista. So I have downloaded LifeCam1.3VX and installed this but still, the camera does not work. I get the error massage:

"Plug your LifeCam webcam into a USB port, and then adjust the audio and video settings. In the wizard, select a microphone and a microsoft webcam."

But the webcam is plugged into a USB port, I have tried it in the many ports I have on my PC. Please could someone help me out here as getting very frustrated with this. I have tried to seach for drivers too but it comes back as none available.

Thanks,

Adam.

Okay if no one knows the answer, does anyone know how I can contact Microsoft for a solution. Paid £40 for a 'Vista ready' webcam which doesn't work!

Cheers

I also have same webcam with Vista 64bit.

Different problem however. It worked fine with driver 1.3 and 2 gbyte memory.

After upgrading to 4 gbyte only black screen and system hangs until I unplug webcam.

Is there anyone how made webcam VX-3000 work on Vista 64 with more then 3 gbyte memory?

Thanks,

Marco

Guys I had heard about problems to use webcams with vista

and now I know it is. Ever since I bought my acer with builtin 1.3 mp camera it worked once.

Some people had it resolved when they deleted/removed all pictures (even sample ones) from the MyPictures folder. This did not work with me.

So if someone/microsoft knws the solution. Please respond to this post. Many thanks
