Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 -- Installation failed.
Hi,
I'm trying to install .NET 3.0 on my Windows 2003 SP2 server (IIS 6.0) and it keeps failing with the following "Error signature"

Log said:

I found this solution on MSDN,http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=916507&SiteID=1 but doesn't sound like my case since I do not have the registry key as mentioned in the forum. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling IIS, reinstalled .NET 2.0, ran Windows Update, then tried re-installing .NET 3.0 but still getting the same error.
Please advice!
I searched all local drives and I do not have the dd_WIC.txt as mentioned in the article. I also tried install .NET 3.0 using Windows Update and received the same error.
Since the log said, "[09/17/07,10:06:55] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates WIC Installer is not installed." I went to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8E011506-6307-445B-B950-215DEF45DDD8&displaylang=en and downloaded wic_x86_enu.exe, then logged on as the local admin and ran the EXE but keeps getting permission error saying I need to contact the system administrator (I'm logged in as the local admin)
I found the dd_depcheckdotnetfx30.txt in the temp directory and it said:
