AIBO

I'm suprised that I couldn't find this question, is there a way to get an AIBO working with the studio?

Funny you should ask, as I'm just looking at this again too. No progress to report yet though. I too would be interested to hear if someone's already got some services available.

Some students at Cornell, that use MSRS for coursework demonstrated to us AIBOs being controlled remotely from MSRS services (this was last year i have no further updates). From my understanding they had it working within a couple of days.

MSRS cant run inside the Aibo, but it can definately communicate with whatever module you have running inside it. You can write an "aibo" MSRS service that runs on a PC, that then talks the proprietery protocol to the AIBO underneath. Similar to our lego, Arcos, etc "brick" services that abstract away hardware platforms and allow the layering of other services on top.

AIBO is no longer for sale ofcourse so the motivation to get it working with MSRS is low.

The robosoft RobuDog however is now available and does run MSRS inside it! We also have a nice simulation of the dog as demonstrated at robocup.
