Vista BHO Appxweb Website Problem
A few days ago I purchased a new Toshiba A200/JO1 Statellite laptop with Vista and proceeded to install my BHO named "Appxweb Meta". The BHO install worked fine with me able to run Meta applications locally with protected mode "off". The BHO is not compatible with protected mode 'on' but I was about to start upgrading it.
Unfortunately a stange behaviour has appeared - I am not able to access my own websitewww.appxweb.com using either IE7 or Firefox. I know my website works fine because I can access it on my other laptop running XP. All other websites are accessible. This appears to be similar problem to these postshttp://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1884842&SiteID=1. and herehttp://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/29944516/vista--ie7-even-in-no-add.aspx
Not sure.? Steps I have taken to try and fix the problem have included
Uninstalling the BHO.
Delete all temporary internet file in IE7.
Reset all default security zone in IE7.
Turning the Firewall off.
Recovering the hard drive using Acronis. Unfortunately my first backup was just after I had installed my BHO. (Yes I am kicking myself now.)
Searching the registry to see ifwww.appxweb.com is somehow blocked.
I also checked my wireless modem fromhttp://www.virginbroadband.com.au/ which states it is Vista compatible.
Tonight I will use Fiddler to try and understand the problem more. Has anyone else experienced similar issues and/or can point me in the right direction. This is very frustrating.
Thanks
