Asela,

According to your question on creating new project of VB.NET, I would like to provide you the suggestions as follows:

1. If you are using Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition, there is no place to choose the path you want to save the project. In this IDE, please type the name for the new project, then you can click "File->Save All" or click "Save All" icon in the standard Toolbar. In Save Project panle, you can type or choose the path to save the project. The shortcut key for this function is Ctrl+Shift+S, please have a try.

2. If you are using Visual Studio 2005, the first time when you create the new project, you can choose the path to save the project. This is the difference between VS and VB Express IDE. When I want to test some sample project, I would prefer Express because when you close the project, you don't need to save but just "Discard" the tested project for convenience.

3. If there is something wrong with the IDE, please try to download and install the Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2005 or Express Edition in the following links:

Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Microsoft? Visual Studio? 2005 Express Editions Service Pack 1

Hope that can help you.
