Run-time error 339: Component 'Richtx32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly
As shown in the thread title, this is an error I'm receiving while trying to use a VB-base coded document management software for the company where I work.
The software interacts with with IBM's AS400 display emulators (iSeries, Bossanova) and basically displays images retrieved from data stores on the AS400. However, this error appears when a user tries to print an image directly from the AS400 using an emulator option. They've been able to use this option with no problems for the past three years but this error has appeared recently (within the past year). I've read quite a number of Microsoft articles on this file and topic and apparantly, it's most due to the file being part of VB on a whole and being locked down in security updates in the past. (clarify?)
Now, we've already tried downloading the latest .ocx, placing it in system32 and system and registering it but to no avail. Either there's a registry error or it does nothing to get rid of the error. The users with the problem have been set as Power Users on their local machines and the registry command in Start > Run does not work and we're trying to not have to set them as Admin to be able to run the command. Either way, we're trying to find a solution to get rid of this error screen to allow the users to work.
Can anyone offer some assistance and/or suggestions on how to solve this or find a way to make this file work?
