Internet options seems to be missing it was here before I went on vacation. The system was shut down and now it is just not there. What happened to it and how do I fix it?!?

Hi,

Home or work computer?

Group Policy settings can stop the Internet Options applet from being accessed by users from either the Tools menu or the Control Panel.

(I am tempted to say that it may have got jealous and ran away when you whent on holidays.)

Regards.

Cute, but I don't think it missed me at all. Everything was still here waiting for me to do when I got back.

It is a home computer that we use for our business as well--my husband and I are the only ones who us this unit.

Hi,

Try these instructions (copied from the microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general ng)

Do both #1 and #2!!

1. IE Restrictions undo
http://camtech2000.net/Pages/Restrictions.htm

Download http://camtech2000.net/Programs/restrc10.zip to your desktop >
Extract the contents of restrc10.zip to your desktop and run the utility.

_Uncheck_ any entries to /remove/ the restriction(s).

2. Now run a /thorough/ check for hijackware to find out what caused the
restriction(s) in the first place, including posting your hijackthis log to
an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
