Schema Compare IGNORED My SKIP Selections.....
Majorly not happy with VSTE for DB Pro's right now...
I ran a schema compare against two database instances. There were differences, missing, drop's, etc. that were found.
For this run through, I ONLY wanted to sync tables. I went and chose SKIP for all the other object types. The first thing I noticed is that for 95% of the objects that initially had an "UPDATE" as their action, and I changesd the action to "SKIP", the only thing that happened was that "UPDATE" was grayed out, but was still there - it was not changed to SKIP nor did the icon change. I assumed this was a bug in the display and that it would still SKIP that action since UPDATE was grayed out....some of the lines DID change to SKIP and their icon did change.
Well...lo and behold, EVERYTHING was updated, even the changes I wanted to SKIP.
If this is a bug, that is not good. Also, is there any way to choose what object types I want to compare. I hate to have to continually compare objects I know I care nothing about or objects I know that are already synced...
If this is a bug, when can a fix be expected?
