Word 2000 and Outlook 2000 Crash

Help please!

How do I fix Word 2000? It will not open any of my documents that I have saved to my hard drive. I get a message that Word must shut down to a unexplained problem.

The dialog box then has a Degug button, which I clicked, but it shuts down and will not open any files.

I have down loaded Word 2003 upgrade system 3 pack, but still no luck. I have done the same thing for Outlook 2000!

Is there a solution, or do I have to obtain new software for Word 2007and Outlook 2007?

Thank you to anyone that knows the answers, as I really need to open some files inorder to work on some important business projects.
