Sending Events from IE toolbar to currently active Webpage

I want to send events from an IE toolbar to a currently active page.
Basically i would like to send events from the IE toolbar to a webpage such that a button on the webpage currently active is pressed based on an event from the toolbar. Does anyone know how to do that?
