Please be patient as this program is in BETA stage.
By that, I mean that there WILL be bugs along the way and that is what beta testers are there for, and that is why Microsoft dont allow everybody into a beta as some people seem to "USE" the app, not "TEST" it.
I ask tho....did you get an invite from Microsoft or from another person....If you got one from Microsoft, then you should have 10 invites or possibly 5. If you got an invite from someone else then you might not have the capability just yet to send invites until later in the Beta.
Otherwise try this:
1. Go to http://ideas.live.com.
2. It should say on the top right "Beta users sign in here". If it says "SIGN OUT", that means your already logged in. Sign out and start back at point 1 above.
3. Once signed in check to see if your invites are there. If not then this might help in answering your questions.
QUOTE: "Some of our beta users have noticed a recent flurry of new invitations as well as some Friends and Family invitations arriving to those already participating in the Windows Live Messenger Beta program. Want to know why? Windows Live Messenger Beta has several new service improvements that change the way the client talks to our servers. One of the motivations for limiting the number of early beta testers is to grow the scale of users slowly to ensure the new architecture is safe to deploy for all 180 million+ users. We hit our first target level for number of users last week and have now increased to the next target level. In order to get there we're giving out more invitations to both new users and to our existing beta users to bring more people on board."
Hope this clears things up for you and others out there!!

I dowloaded the new Messenger Live Beta on my pc and every time I try to log on it tells me that the passport ID used is not allowed to access to this beta version of messenger. I can log into the Windows Live Ideas website but no invites?
Now why is that?

Hey m8,
What version of MSN Messenger are you running on your laptop?
What version of MSN Messenger are you running on your desktop?
If the desktop version is still showing no invites, try this:
1. Logout of Passport.net follow this link http://login.passport.com/logout.srf?lc=1033
2. Logout of your user profile on your laptop.
then
3. login into desktop machine.
4. login into http://ideas.live.com with your passport ID and password.
5. you should see some invites under the programs you're registered for.
If you don't see any invites, then many things could have possible happened, some listed below;
You might have used the invite already;
You might not be on the WLM beta. You will tell straight away if you on this beta or not as you should be able to see the program listing on this page.
Please respond back and let everyone know your results.
Also, your answer will get answered, just depends on how much info you can give (OS, Machine type, CPU, RAM, HDD Free Space, Version numbers too)
I hope this helps
Thank you,
Aust-Tech
i was invited to join 8.0 on my hotmail account and i downloaded live 8.0 BETA and loaded it on my PC but every time i go to type in my email to log in, it takes about 8 secs per character i have to type. when i finally get it in and put in my password i click on sign in and it waits for about 5 secs then gives me a message that the service is unavailable at the time and to try back later.
I had the same problem with MSN 7.5.
I have been though a heap of forums and tried everything they have mentioned and it hasnt helped.
