Can users add and view work items from the sharepoint portal for the project

Hello,

I have Team foundation installed and running for my team, however I was not able to find any documentation to let my users view, add, and edit work items from the project portal.

Can it be done? Would appreciate any help.

No, not out-of-the-box; however, there is a third-party solution by devbiz for providing a Web interface, called TeamPlain. I just blogged about it their v1 release: http://blogs.msdn.com/571356.aspx.
