Could you please describe *what* is not working with the Project Alerts? Did you check the check box next to an alert, enter a valid email ID and then click OK? Was there no mail generated when the event occurred?

In Tfs i checked the checkbox and also gave the valid email id and then click ok then i changed the work items. but the mail is not generating for my changes.

You need to configure the SMTP settings in the TF server for it to generate emails.

I have check all the setting of IIS accroding to the documentation you provided. But it still doesn't work...
