Moved Servers - Keep Workspace

We have recently done a "consolidation" of servers, and therefore had to move our TFS from one server to another. No big deal, but what we are finding to be a pain is the fact that when setting the Working directory for a project (setting the workspace) we are finding that the new installation won't let us use the exising path on our local pc's for the project because "The path c:\blah.... is already mapped in workspace xxxxxx[http://oldserver:8080/]."

I have tried deleting the workspace and recreating it but I still get the same error message.

Is there a solution for this?
