VS2003 + Visual Source Safe upgrade question

Hi,

I'm in the process of looking at upgrading our development environment. We currently run Visual Studio .net 2003 Professional Edition and use Visual Source Safe for source control. What version of Visual Studio 2005 should i be looking at and what is happening with Visual Source Safe? Is there a new version or is Team System the replacement? All of our development is for web applications and web services if this affects the advice. Also we tightly use Visio and Project.

The direct replacement for your current environment would be Visual Studio 2005 Professional with Visual SourceSafe 2005. Visio for Enterprise Architects is included in MSDN Premium.

I could not find a single marketing page for SourceSafe 2005 - but it does exist, I promise! There are technical articles about it, but no basic product information that I could locate.

We're in the same boat. We plan to eventually upgrade all of our stuff to Visual Studio 2005 but the reality is we still use Visual Studio 6 and Visual Studio 2003. If we convert our VSS database to Visual Studio Team source control, does it still integrate with VS 6 and VS 2003?
