Desperate: Add a user to the Team Foundation Administrators group

I dropped the BUILTIN\Administrators group from Team Foundation Administrators group and now I can't do anything in TFS. I was trying to exclude all the administrators of the box from showing up in Work Item Assigned To field.

I'm a member of the Administrators group on the box. How can I add myself back to the Team Foundation Administrators group?

Edit: I tried tfssecurity.exe but also got the same error: TF50309: You do not have sufficent permissions to perform this operation.

Are there any other members in Team Foundation Administrators group? I guess the only option you have is to logon with credentials of any account that still is in that group, and fix the situation.

Thanks,

Alex

The only one left in there is the [SERVER]\Service Accounts group. I don't think I can login as one of the service accounts?

You could logon as one of this group's members.

Thanks a lot. In my panic mode I was thinking the service accounts were the local service, network service etc. Then I realized it's the TFS group, which has the domain account. I logged in as that and was able to add myself back into the group. It really freaked me out for a while.

Okay, so if every user/group is ever removed from [SERVER]\Team Foundation Administrators group, is there any way to add someone back in? Or you have to reinstall TFS?

Thanks again.

I just checked - we explicitly prohibit removing all members from the Administrators group - at least one member must remain.

Thanks,

Alex
