sql server 2005 express fails to install

Hi Everyone,

I am installing visual basic 2005 express edition. I removed all previous installations of vb2005 ctp and sql server express. I installed the dotnet 2.0 then the visual basic express making sure the sql express is selected. But only sql server express fails to install. What should I do now? The wizard didn't give any further explanation.

Have you tried installing the SQL Server Express product by it's self as a separate install. Doing this may give you a more in depth error message. Note that doing this will still allow the integrated functions from the VB.Net Express and other Express products to work.

You might also want to have a look at the Latest release of SQL Server Express Service Pack 1 on the Microsoft Downloads site.
