Owner does not match logged in user

A user of ours logs into his box and opens up VSTS and TFS always thinks he is a different owner. We don't see this on any of the other clients. For example, if he goes to edit a workspace, it shows that the owner is the tfs setup account rather than the logged in user. As a consequence all his alerts get assigned to the tfs setup owner. How can this be and how can we reset it?

Perhaps the info is cached. Try:

In Control Panel, open User Accounts.

Click the Advanced tab.

Click Manage Passwords.

Locate the entry for your Team Foundation Server, and then click Remove.

Open Team Explorer and re-connect.

Not only did that fix the problem, but it introduced me to a super cool option on the user accounts dialog I didn't know was there. Thanks for the helpful response.
