Google search is the best... you can search videos, images, web pages, it has his own blogs, the famous Google Earth which it's great and some other cool staff.
What do you think about msn against google ?
I think Google is clearly the leader in searching the internet. I don't think anyone questions that.
Their API however is horrible. It has been UNCHANGED in beta since 2002 (how long does it take to get it right?) and Google doesn't accept ANY requests to use it in a production application or extend their search per day limit (which is 1000 per user by the way).
MSN Search has 10000 searches per application, and this limit is tracked by IP address. So if you have multiple instances of an application running by different users, each can conduct 10000 searches. Depending on the application, the 1000 limit from Google is a killer, and since it is by user and you are not supposed to get more than one id per user it makes it basically useless for any real development.
MSN Search will eventually surpass Google unless Google changes their policy and makes it easier for developers to use their service. Personally if Google will ever grant permission, I would love to include both as options in my applications, but so far I can't even get more than an automated email from Google. If you are planning to integrate internet search into your application (which is what this forum is all about) MSN Search is a much better option.
Have you tried comparing google, msn and yahoo. For the past one month I have been doing that. Frankly the difference btw the 3 is not much its probably +/-4 between them and the ordering is different. And both google and microsoft suck when it comes to competitiors search. Try searching for mail in google and msn search. In google hotmail comes below globe and mail (which is apparently a news paper in canada with small following). Google has lost its ethics of late.
The only thing that i like in google is the news that automatically appears. Other than that all 3 are sailing the same boat !!!
Reg. google earth did u give local live a try? Its amazing. And you are mentioning about "some other cool stuff". I dont find google having any other cool stuff. You can elighten me if you dont mind
