OTP 2 questions C++ libary...... buffer overrun

Hi

The first problem I have is when I run a viruis scan. I contacted EZ ANTI VIRUS and the company said that this problem is a MICROSOFT problem because I ran a scan in the safe mode and everthing was ok. 1st problem is when I run a scan 1/2 way into the scan I recieve a error message:::: MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ RUNTIME LIBARY BUFFER OVERRUN DETECTED!!! Program: ocume:~1owner/local~/temp/pfte.temp/set up.exe Buffer over run has been detected which has corruptedbthe prograns internal state. The program can not saftely continue execution and must now terminate.

2nd problem is when I try to shut down the computer I receive this message. The error message pops up several times before I can shut down... I explore.exe application error "The instructions at "0x02412475"referenced memory at "0x024423c4" The memory could not be "read". Click on ok to terminate the program.

I AM CLUELESS ON THESE PROBLEMS. ARE THEY LINKED TO A COMMON PROBLEM? PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN WITH ONE PROBLEM OR BOTH.. THANK YOU KINDLY. P.S. IF YOU CAN PLEASE EXPLAIN IN EASY TERMS BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW THE COMPUTER LINGO AND I AM MOSTLY A BEGINNER COMPUTER USER.... THANKS...

A buffer overrun as a result of a bug in EZ Anti Virus was detected by the Microsoft C runtime library. The bug probably doesn't manifest in their safe mode, but it does manifest in their other mode. There's nothing anyone can do other than the vendor of EZ Anti Virus to give you a workaround, a downloadable update, or a refund.

Hi i have just turned my pc on and when ever i it logs on i geth this message:

Buffer overrrun detected!

Program:C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

and when i click ok it makes the screen go blank and only show my wallpaper and no start bar or icons etc etc couls anyone please help!

Either:

1. You uncovered a bug in explorer.exe. Make sure you are up to date.

2. Your explorer.exe got hijacked. Run a malware scanner.

In either case, please be aware that this forum is for C++ language questions.

Jonathan,

I have the exact same messge on my computer every time you try to do anything on it. did you get a fix for it. I have tried to retore, I downloaded Exploer 7 and done updates virus checks and nothing fixes it.
