Editing XAML - am I missing something ?
I have the latest release, AFAIK, and Cider is useless - I cannot type into the XAML editor, and using the drag and drop is a waste of time. Expression is a ton better ( read, it can be used ), but is missing the most basic features ( how about search, let alone search and replace, or auto indent of XML, or even being able to use TAB to indent a section of XAML ). I realise it's pre-release, but surely the code for those common features is trivial enough to be put in early and make the tool useful ?
Or are they there and I'm just too dumb to find them ?

Cider is a great tool but have some issues sometimes.
But there is no problems with the XAML editor. Why do you say that you cannot type into it ? what's the problem/error ?
Bye
Approx every 20th key press registers, and the characters < and > NEVER work. I assumed it was just a problem with the beta, you're saying this only happens to me ?
Sure, I accept that. However, Cider for me does not register almost all key presses, and Expression is just missing basic stuff that would take a day to throw together, and the absence of that stuff surely is annoying people using it within MS as much as without ?
Are you also experiencing this XML editing problem if you open up the XAML file with the XML Editor? What about the code-behind for the XAML file?
To do this, right-click the XAML file and select the "Open With..." option. Then select the "XML Editor" option from the dialog and click OK.
None of us here have encountered that problem.
We've made great strides in terms of quality since the Feb CTP and we are excited to be able to share that with you in the next CTP. (TBA)
That said, you are the first to complain about key presses not registering, please let us know if this continues to be a problem if you uninstall all preview releases and upgrade to the next CTP.
Thanks,
Jim
That's a good question, however, as VAX is so far the first add in NOT to cause VS2005 instability, it does not surprise me.
