This is a known issue. The warning itself is harmless.

To get rid of it, follow these steps:

1. From Administrative Tools, start Component Services.

2. In the MMC snap-in, go to Component Services, Computers, My Computer.

3. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties and then click the MSDTC tab.

4. Click the button "Security Configuration...".

5. Without changing anything, click OK to close the Security dialog.

6. Click OK again and then close the MMC.

This problem can also be see after a dcpromo if the log and data files have been moved to a different drive. The cure is exactly the same.

WOW, this solution works for this strange error too.

After a server crash I installed a new DC and renamed it to the old name, and get some strange problems.

Event Id: 1058

Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO CN={31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F- 0C04FB984F9},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=domain,DC=com. The file must be present at the location <\\domain.com\sysvol\domain.com\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini>. (Access is denied. ). Group Policy processing aborted.

I tried all the steps in the link but nothing helped. I Demoted and promoted without luck.

But this trick by Florin works fine.

Thanks

Tony,

I'm sorry to hear the problem is back. What actions did you do on the machine that caused the problem to show up again?

Cheers!

Hi

I just rebooted.

There is something wrong. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.

After some hours the problem is back. I have reset the default domain policy and waiting for next fault now....
