Mech Commander 2 Shared Source Release Intall problem

Hey there, I'm using XP professional Korean version with sp2...I've installed XNA Builder without any problems, but when I install the Mech Commander 2 Shared Source Release, a error messege popped up like this:

Error 1324. The path Microsoft?MechCommander?2 Shared Source Release contains an invalid character.

Then the installation finished.

Could anyone be pleased to tell me what can I do for this?I've download it twice, but the same problem came out, and I've tired to modified to inner language option in the control panel to English, but it just doesn't make any sense...

Are you double clicking the installation icon (The exe file) on your desktop? Could you try creating a path C:\Temp and place the exe file there and see if you can run it from there?

If that doesn't work see if you can right click the exe file and extract the containg MSI file to a folder you specifiy. You might need WinZip installed to do this but I'm not 100% sure.

Let me know if either of those help you or not. Do you get as far as the installation screen? Or just the uncompression process?

Thanks, Do you get this as soon as you run the installer? Do you even have the chance to choose the installation folder?

The other thing that looks off is your .MSI file, the exe file you download should be a little over 1GB and the MSI is also a little over 1GB. In your screenshot it shows the file size as 40MB which seems to indicate that it is a corrupt download and might be causing the error.

Have you tried using a download manager to assist downloading the file?

Hey, sir, I've tried extract the exe file by the right clicking and got a .msi file with a 1.04G size, but I still get that error after I run the .msi file.

As you said, I even don't have the chance to choose the installation folder...

And I didn't use a download manager to download this file...do u have any recommend download manager for this?^^ anyway, thank you so much for all these

Well, If you got the full file size now, I don't know if using a download manager will help. I think the problem has to do with us using the the registered symbol in our installer name or something. Do you have access to a computer that has an copy of Windows XP in english? You could install it on another machine and simply copy everything from "C:\MechCommander2 Source" to your machine. For the build to correctly run you would also need to add an enviroment variable called MC2Root and the value to where you have copied the files i.e. "C:\MechCommander2 Source\"

I'll try to see if there's another way to make it work when I am back in the office, I might be able to try it on that OS and see if I can do anything but I think trying the above may be your best bet for now.

I'm very sorry for the trouble and I'll see if there might be a better solution for you.
