Features being removed from Windows for Vista (e.g. DirectAnimation)

One thing that would be handy to have is an official list of what is being "for sure" or "possibly" removed from Windows starting with Windows Vista. For example, I noticed that DirectAnimation (danim.dll) is gone. Since it hasn't been touched in ~7 years, and isn't widely used, I can understand getting rid of it--it's not worth having to keep it maintained when the future is WPF.

However it would be great to have this confirmed somewhere along with which other technologies are on their way out.

Good point!

Perhaps someone from Microsoft would deign to pass comment as well.

Just what is happening with DirectAnimation?

When is it being phased out and which platforms will no longer support it?

We have customers that use Internet Explorer and make use of this control.

What action should we take?
