Can't un-install Visual Web Developer or MSDN 2005 Express

While working with VB 2005 Express I noticed the toolbox icons were combo box for all controls and the application Form was lost, many hours of work gone. Thought I would un-install all 2005 Express programs and re-install. Unable to un-install Visual Web developer and MSDN 2005 Express.

It is not clear why you need to uninstall these apps, if you describe why you think you need to uninstall there might be a way repair the installation. Like reset toolbox option.

What errors are you getting?

Reset toolbox option, that worked. Didn't know such a thing existed, should I? Is there a valid reason ToolBox, All Windows Forms would display the same icon for every control?

No error was given for not being able to uninstall MSDN 2005 Express. Powered down computer, took a break and then retried to uninstall. Worked like a charm...feels like Windows 98 SE!

The uninstall for Visual Web Developer was impressive! Started uninstall and then it (Windows?) wandered off to who knows where. No errors were given and End Task works very well. Tried to install then uninstall. Didn't work. Later on Windows decided Web Developer really wasn't there after all...interesting.

Being a long time Windows user...when all else fails you un-install and then re-install. To answer your question, old habits. Beyond that, using BindingSource Methods and deleted a source in the Solution Explorer before thinking. That generated many errors which had me looking in places I shouldn't make manual changes. By then it was to late, the Form Design was just gone. Too bad, it looked great and many hours of work lost.

It's very easy to make severe costly mistakes with Visual Studio.

I need to unistall Visual Wb Developer 2005 Express Edition to install other Express Editions like Visual C++. The setup fails time and again. Displays: "A problem has been encountered while loading setup components" and it exits. I have tried to install .NET, that fails as well. I have the same problems on XP SP2 as well as Vista HP. I really don't feel like reinstalling windows! It would be great if you can list out a manual removal procedure. I also tried the tool on the MS site, to troubleshoot Visual Studio installations, it says the system is fine!
