Navigation around Project Portal hindered by repeated display of Domain Login Prompt

Help please! I am a project manager and seem to be the only person afflicted with this problem in my organisation and my SysAdmin doesn't know what to do to overcome it.

When I am in VSTS explorer, I can right click and select to show Show Project Portal. The project portal home page is displayed, and a few moments later, the login prompt is displayed. If I 'cancel' or re-enter my password three times I can generally navigate round the portal. (But am increasingly frustrated by the hindrance caused by dealing with the all the extra popup screens!)

The login prompt is also requested for each project portal home page that I visit, and for some of the subordinate pages too. It may also be requested when I select to edit or view documents.

It's as though the permissions on my account haven't proliferated our network and servers.

Sometimes things go wrong and I am locked out of my account altogether. The SysAdmin must then unlock my account for our domain.

This problem didn't exist when VSTS was first set up, and seems to have been triggered on the day I was connecting to the office over a VPN.

What suggestions can I give to help my SysAdmin?

Thanks in anticipation.

Notice your account has different set of permissions, ones refers to TFS, and others to Sharepoint, so maybe check your permissions on Sharepoint, also, if you plan to access it from outside your office, take a look to this article on how to access TFS remotely

Thanks for this, Luis. It's been forwarded to our SysAdmin ... along with a link buried in the above posting.

It's start. Will let you know if anything above resolves the issue. If someone knows for sure how to solve the problem, please let me know.

Thanks,

This is a continuing problem - even after uninstalling & re-installing VSTS. However the problem is somewhat abated. Subsidiary pages no longer seem to request logins. It's just the project home pages. If cancel is selected navigation is OK - my SysAdmin is also not seeing any authentication denials and as a result believes this may not realate to authentication. He wonders whether it relates to a process initiated at the end of dispalying a web page.

TFS really has no role in browsing the SharePoint site. If the problems persist, I'd recommend cross posting this in the SharePoint forum and see if they have any ideas.

Well the problem has finally gone away. One morning I reconnected my laptop and VSTS announced that it was configuring itself for the first time ... and thereafter no further login requests. Weird, eh?
